Pros & Cons
Pros
Are they the only authentic maker in the world or just palestine?
This scarf is large enough for me to easily use as a head covering, wrapping all the way around my head and face. Perfect for the dust storms at burning man. Will keep a volunteer's uniform from chafing his neck.
Love the color, almost a match to coyote brown nylon. Seems to be well made and with the proper weave (loose, but not too loose) for a shemagh. Foliage is a really nice color, and the fabric is great.
This one is much softer than my desert shaded one. Very soft, yet tuff. Maybe a little thicker than the average ones one here.
Cons
There was a one inch diameter hole is the shemagh. This defect should have been caught by the seller. Maybe in the artic and you could use it as a scarf but in arizona where i want to use it in both got weather and cold weather, this is just too big. ... Read More
Highlights
Quality
The quality is spot on and they don’t smell horrible like others.
The quality is great, material is amazing however it’s smaller than the usual keffiyeh.
I figured i'd try out a hirbawi shemagh because i assumed it would be the highest quality product.
Other than that really high quality shemagh.
Price
And the cost is great if you need to use in emergency, or give away, or leave behind.
Rothco is a great company providing excellent quality for the price.
I am all for supporting a last remaining manufacturer of authentic products, but that's difficult when the higher price doesn't... Read More
It's no stranger to pulled threads, but for the price i'm okay with it.
Packaging/appearance
These are well made, didn’t bleed out in the wash and didn’t shrink much at all.
Competitiveness
In fact, it appears to be much more durable than my hirbawi shemagh, which costs about $25.
And i’ve been a customer of rothco since i was in the military, still not disappointed!
So i have bought a shemagh or kufiya, from another manufacturer, rothco, and the original hirbawi from palestine.
Be aware that situations like this can happen if you wear a shemagh.
