Pros

The xl fits me fine and theres plenty of extra room. Nice and roomy, not snug at all. Size seems ok except the hoody with the fur.

The 2xl is nice and roomy and reasonably well insulated. Should serve me well for when the snow and sleet travel more side ways than down. It is all cotton, so if it rained, there might be a problem without any repellant features.

Pocket locations are good and i appreciate the sunglass pocket inside. The heavy duty zipper sometimes get cought. The pockets are deep & great, the removable hood helps tremendously on windy days.

The rothco parka is a good, close substitute - especially for the larger sizes. Very funky and earthy. Outstanding parka, especially considering the price.

Cons

The coat i got 2 weeks ago is a disgrace to any clothing on this planet! No layers except cotton thermals and a long sleeve t shirt. There was a big section in the front left part of the jacket with no insulation or virtually no insulation.

It is not an identical copy of the m-51, but isn't a surplus rag either.

Competitiveness

Can wear just a t-shirt under in our south dakota winters and still keep very warm.

In this day in age were everything from china runs super small and is a smedium at best, i always buy x-large or higher.

I am 1,80 mts less than 200lb and is large, but i dont find the xl in stock.

Now go get yourself a $300 northface hollowfill, qualfill, (plastic) and snuggle by the fire.
