Pros & Cons
Pros
Great pen though not as fine as the platinum. Every bit the equal of my lamy joy—a similar pen. If you like hand writing and pen & ink drawing, this is the type of pen you should have.
Bought as gift for my stepmother daughter. Great drawing and sketching pen. Nib starts to soften after months of drawing, so it gives a little.
No difficulty with loading ink from the ink converter. One cartridge lasts longer than you'd expect from it's size. I also have the converter and some bulletproof black noodler's ink for home use.
The eraser is soft and sticky enough to hold the cap on.
The nib is flexible enough to be able to do very fine hatching strokes. The nibs are very smooth and a good blend of flexibility/stiffness.
Highlights
Quality
I like the balance with the cap posted, as i have large hands and it just feels better.
It has a very high quality tip.
Every bit the equal of my lamy joy—a similar pen.
Price
Shop around, and you can usually find a pretty good price.
I didn't buy it here, but from an art supply store (price is a bit less).
Shipping
And the shipping cost was flat $8.
Packaging/appearance
If i need a fine line, i roll the pen over and use the back of the nib.
Competitiveness
All in all, i am really happy with my purchase and i am looking forward to buy more rotring products.
I've had a love affair with these rotring artpens for years, in particular the extra-fine ones.
As a writer/illustrator i have used hundreds of ink pen brands (expensive, overpriced, affordable, cheapish, etc.
