I checked everywhere for that information including the booklet of instructions and all sides of the box but still was questioning the need for oil as i had never had a shredder that did not need oil

On another site a reviewer noted that his query to royal resulted in a message that it not only required no lubrication but that use of the same would void the warranty

Incredulous who has ever heard of such a thing i queried royal myself and received the following email response 34we generally do not advice to lubricate the shredder becuase it will cause damage to motor and blades and it would void the warranty so please do not use any oil to lubricate the shredder
