Cons

The register requires the owner to manually build a database of items for the scanner to work correctly! It's bad enough trying to enter receipt headers and footers. It was done several times. Still doesn't work.

Upgraded a scanner on an old alpha 601sc and this is a huge improvement!

That is better because i have been using this scanner for over 2 years and still completely happy with it.

The cash register doesn't have a usb, it has a serial port.

I read the three line activating instructions-scanned the bar code on the instructions-and the scanner immediately starting working.
