Pros
Good product. Works as advertised. Fast shipping. Top notch. Nice inexpensive enclosure.
The rshtech is well made and, so far, reliable. Heat dissipation is not as good as some icy docks but the cost is far less. The fit & finish is top-notch - unlike the vantec nexstar tx enclosure. Wish it had a cooling fan.
Everything is there to install and connect. Easy to install hard drive.
Using it with a 500 gb spinning drive for a portable install of linux peppermint. Comes with instructions on how to open/close case, screws for the drive, and a small screw driver.
Go to control panel and type admin in the top right. Find your drive and right click on the unallocated space. Default for allocation unit size.
Cons
Deceptive and *. Bad qa makes the whole thing worthless.
I cannot get holes drilled right to match the drive. Takes forever to connect to computer when first plugged in. Now when you plug the unit in, it locks up the other usb drives.

Quality
The build quality is superb and the tolerances between the inner plastic try and the outer enclosure are beautifully precise.
I put the drive in the case with the supplied screws and attached the cover and plugged it in and everything worked fine.
I am disappointed with the plastic inner tray.
I used one of my extra 2 1/2 hhd in this and gave it away with the refurbished computer that i provide to under privileged students.
Price
Heat dissipation is not as good as some icy docks but the cost is far less and the heat dissipation is really not too bad.

Competitiveness
No problems and i have a 6tb hd hooked up to it.
I bought it to use with a 3tb 3.
If you have a 3tb or larger hard drive, you will need to partition the drive if you want to use it.

I’ve tried this with other drives in the past and always ran into issues with them not being recognized in the new enclosure
