Pros
Ntfs formatted on basic usb3 adapter. Hooked up to my xbox and had external storage ready in minutes. The only drawback is the separate power adapter.
My 1. Tb 3. Tb even came with screws (and screwdriver) to mount the drive. Easy to put in drives both 3. And 2. Comes with four simple screws that make it a perfect permanent enclosure.
It is not meant for heavy use like commercial, it is more for the hobbyist and home consumer. No overheating problems. However, this product definitely needs to have a built-in fan and/or vents.
Cons
Am returning the defective unit. Didn't want to waste time contacting the manufacturer. Only the devise itself shows as a drive.
The temperature of the harddrive is very high. Was unable to use product in win10, mac osx, and linux. Could not plug in harddrive due to lack of clearance. Failed after 10 minutes.
Cheap junk is headed for the trash.

Price
It's a good value, pretty decent quality and have had zero issues so far.
For the price, it works pretty much as expected.
At this price i should have bought a dozen.
Packaging/appearance
It came in well packaged and there were no issues with the device at all.
Everything i needed was in the box, except for the hard drive of course.
Competitiveness
My older, more expensive brand name unit couldn't handle the 8, so i'm more than pleased!

There must’ve been some sort of hardware revision between 2 years ago the current one because the new one is different with the power button for one you have to hold it down to power on and the other you only press it

If you hold down the power button on the one where you only press it it doesn’t turn on vice versa

But it’s fine the manuals have the different instructions on how to turn it on it’s just a bit annoying to remember probably won’t be a problem for anyone else
