Pros & Cons
Pros
The interior of the bowl seems slightly unfinished, but that may be as it should be. The marble is great! Very pretty to leave on the counter also. It looks great in our kitchen and we can't wait to use it!
The bottom has a velvety pad pasted onto it so it lands softly. Great size, not too small for grinding larger batches of seasonings. This crushes them in to a fine powder which can then be mixed with applesauce.
Highlights
Quality
I feel that being able to make larger circles with the pestle makes the grinding go faster.
Very sturdy, grounds awesome, and extremely pretty!
For me, i was always frustrated with the small openings of mortar's and that my seeds and spices would go flying.
It’s a nice product however i found it a little small
Competitiveness
It is much heavier and sturdier than the glass predecessor.

But i will caution you the reason that i had to buy a new one of these was because i put mine in the dishwasher after grinding up a chicken bouillon cube and letting it sit out a few days unintentional
