Pros & Cons
Pros
Never knew there would be such a difference with a collander. It's ambidextrous, it's not flimsy, the handle is comfy enough. They work great for both.
Cons
It's cheap and careless. I suppose it isn't that big of a deal (unless your'e straining something besides water), but it's just one more step to finish the straining process that is so unnecessary.
The top of the colander has a nearly microscopic bevel around each hole. When you run your microfiber dish cloth or towel over it, it catches the microfibers. The corners of the edge that are supposed to go against a pot are square and sharp.

Highlights
Quality
I love the quality, design and beauty of this colander.
Quality made, sturdy enough for everyday use, and has a very good base height.
Competitiveness
Never knew there would be such a difference with a collander.
I eat pretty much everything with shirataki noodles (zero carb noodles), which need to be washed before used.

I had purchased one of those new silicone strainers but found that the holes were too far apart so that the physics of water tension created a barrier that resulted in my noodles essentially sitting in water

I like the size of the drain holes but i find myself hand washing this strainer a lot because i’m checking to make sure the drain holes are cleaned properly and i have reservations about it’s overall sturdiness in the dishwasher

My family is pretty rough on shoving things into the dishwasher and although this strainer shows really no signs of wear i just don’t trust that it won’t eventually get bent or dinged if someone forced it into the dishwasher

Plenty of holes in it for the water to drain quickly for pasta and the holes are small enough that i havent had any food escape
