Pros
Great for applesauce, apple butter, mashed sweet potatoes, and tomato sauce. A bit of a chore to actually mill the vegetables and then clean up. Works nicely especially if you are making your own tomato sauce or marinara.
The legs are stationary but will fit many different sized bowls due to the multiple notches. I also love the feet on this with their stepped grooves that allow me to position this on the rim of a bowl.
The rsvp food mill is a nicely constructed food mill with three disks. It has 3 interchangeable discs which makes it very versatile. The three disks make a variety of purees, from smooth to slightly chunkier.
The knob on the handle is a small thing, but makes a difference in operating the food mill. The mill is dishwasher safe, which means it will not be damaged by dishwasher.
Cons
The blade that turns is so tight against the grinding blade that i can't turn the handle. The blade is too small to catch the food and there is no friction between the blade and the milling plate.

But, for a typical batch of seven or so half pints, this is a very economical product that works well.
Competitiveness
I took that flimsy mill back to wal-mart (it was the only one they offered).
I purchased another brand and had to return it because the pieces did not fit together.
Never once have i found atk's top-rated items to be less than exemplary.
