With the lid open its very easy to see the hinge assembly and line it up correctly whereas with the lid closed its hard to get everything aligned

Not even close to preventing lid closure

Otherwise your going to need someone to help hold the lid in place while you try to get that pin through

In addition once the box is together its nearly impossible to get in a good position to push the pins through with the lid closed or open without someone holding it
