There are so many characters i did wish that the book contained a chart of dramatis personae in order to keep them straight but even so the narrative was mostly crisp sometimes engrossing and often reflective revailing not just what happened but to a large extent why it happened

Tom does a great job covering the period in extreme depth with an exiting writing style that makes the reader want to turn the page by exiting i do not mean it is written like a fiction book
