But the nonstick wore off after about 5 years and i havent had one of those since using just a nonstick pan kept specially for rice

I saw someone mention the mess caused when the water boils i avoid that simply by leaving the lid off until i cant see any water and then put on the lid and we cover the lid inside with a teatowel to steam it dry and fluffy and create the tadiq
