Pros & Cons
Pros
Perfect pour spout does a great job at eliminating splashes. Easy to change filter ( albeit a little fiddly). Kettle and filter works well with no signs of limescale.
Boils water quickly and quietly. This gets to the state my other kettles were within a couple of weeks in 3 months. Can't fault this kettle at all.
The kettle itself at £56 is exceptionally good value. Really nice kettle, no metallic or plastic taint. It is heavy, bear that in mind.
Cons
When it boils is sounds like a jet engine as it is so noisy, i even have to turn the radio up as this thing just drowns it out. The kettle leaks like a sieve all over the base plate which worries me from a safety point of view.
Russell hobbs is a pathetic excuse for a kettle. Takes forever to filter.
Highlights
Quality
This is the best kettle for my hard water area i have ever had, no limescale build up so far (after a month), and no scum on water.
Great upgrade from my previous kettle, great to have a filter built in and completely clear so you can better see the water lev... Read More
Filter failed to function before it's time up, even though it was prefed from a filter jug, leaving lime scale on the heated base.
I had three previously that were all made of plastic and on each of them the lid broke after a relatively short period of time.
Price
I would say the cost of getting filters would be expected and you can buy cheaper compatible filters for this.
Filters are very expensive, only last a month.
Competitiveness
There are very few kettles on the market now that take the britta filter.
