Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

Rustoleum appliance epoxy is my favorite paint to restore appliance finishes. With proper prep and environmental conditions, this stuff lays down in an ultra smooth gloss finish. It is very durable and washes well.

It almost has a self leveling nature to it if you hit the overlap and hand speed just right. It cures slowly so an overnight stay in the garage is recommended. Have panel horizontal to avoid sags.

Cons

This product takes forever to dry for sanding. High dollar paint with a cheap nozzle. Sanded down for a second coat after waiting a week and resprayed.

This is not true epoxy or you wouldn't be able to remove with lacquer thinner. Looks like evaporating distillates may be causing the problem.

Shaking the cans over a day produces more than what looks like a dingy clear coat. This can is not at all enough for my single tub. And maybe consider this perspective when laying out ten to sixteen bucks a can.

While it does not match the surrounding stainless perfectly, it is much better than looking at black trim, or the final option, a $400.
