Pros & Cons
Pros
This shellac fits the bill. It works great. Dries fast no bad smell after it dried.
Perfect for sealing food safe items. Not the most durable finish ever, but this shellac is no better or worse than any other shellac i have used. Works well for sealing mdf for different cnc projects before painting/epoxy/etc. Amber color gives a nice... Read More
Cons
I know it says 1/2 pint in the description but it's at best misleading. It's at worst intentially misleading. For cheaper, can by this product at any local hardware store.
Highlights
Quality
I find that this finish, from days gone by, is a great wuick and easy finish that is durable and practical to this day.
Clear shellac is a good fast drying sanding sealer under other finishes; the aerosol can makes it quick and easy to apply.
The can is disintegrating on the inside and flakes of black rubber pieces.
Blocks stains to and then paint over with finish coat of paint.
Price
Very good product at a great price.
New quarts are normally $22 - $28/can.
It is more costly this way but sometimes it is worth it.
Sure wish you could make it cheaper.
Shipping
No issues with shipping/delivery on my purchases so far.
The can had no other scuffs or problems so this probably was damaged in shipping.
Competitiveness
I've always preferred shellac to other finishes when it's appropriate to use, probably because it doesn't smell terrible.
