Pros
Sealcoat dries fast, adds depth, richness and a bit of glow to the wood. Used it to fill in the pores of open grained wood. I like to use this sealcoat under my acrylic paintings on wood where i let the matrix show through.
This de-waxed shellac is wonderful. It sticks to just about anything, including wood treated with tung or linseed oil. Sometimes i'll just use this stand alone or with a beeswax coat over it.
Unlike regular sanding sealers, the seal coat enhances the look of the wood. Goes on quick, drys very fast and sands nice. Fast drying creates a beautiful natural look.
Cons
Sanded down to 1000 grit paper in one direction producing a reflective sheen on the wood surface with no finish. Dries too fast in my opinion making. Literally starts drying in seconds. The stain appears significantly darker as well after it's applied... Read More

The dewaxed shellac is has very little solvents in it and it will not smear your stain.
Price
Price is not that bad but a lot more than what it used to be when it was readily available.
Nice stuff, but on the pricey side as most of it is solvent and evaporates.
