Pros

I'd dare to say, it's better. It cuts every bit as well as an corded electric trimmer. Motor is powerful and variable speed trigger is nice.

Cons

I got fooled when i only saw the bottom of the device and incorrectly assumed it was the newer & lighter model. The replacement parts are cheaply made and don't hold up at all. The string breaks easily, so you end up going through a lot of string.... Read More

It auto feeds like a dream, similar to the other ryobi weed eater, and is just as dependable.

Another reason i bought it again is that i have several other ryobi implements that use the same 18v battery.
