I bough this because it was cheap and had a cray amount of positive reviews.
It was a great price for what you're getting, 9 ports for $35 is nice.

The package arrived quickly and without damage.
It would have saved a great deal of time and frustration for both myself and the amazon rep.

I had similar good result with other usb hubs (without on/off switches) from brands, tp-link and byeasy.
Yes if there wasn't another brand, doing what i want to see improved, for the same price.

As others have noted if you do not have the usb cable connected you cannot charge anything in the first slot may not be able to charge anything in the first slot at all

Only have two fairly minor complaints the first being that the power cable can come loose fairly easily if you move it and the second being it doesnt have any nonslip feet either on the body if laying flat or on the stand if laying vertically so it moves around quite a bit even when just grabbing a cable plugged into it

I was very wary of purchasing a usb hub because there are so many of them on the market and a lot have bad reviews to go with them

Ive seen that many people report that it doesnt work but i think that people arent patient enough with this product
