Yes the switch has to be manually clicked for each computer (thus the word "switch") but works great and is exactly what i expected.
There is no external power supply needed, the device puts out no heat, the aluminum casing stays cool to the touch.
Less moving parts the better and the less chance of something breaking imho.

They may be referring to the phenomenon caused by poor quality usb devices backfeeding voltage to the usb controller on the motherboard

This is purely the fault of the connected device usually a hub and not this switch

Some devices do not have a resistor where they should causing the power brick of a connected device to backfeed into the pc
