The cable tie to stop the gate flapping about when you install it had also been removed so i had to use duct tape to secure it while we were putting it up

This wasnt a problem for us as we wanted to screw it on anyway and the pads came off easily but all of this is probably worth noting if you see a cheaper one on amazon which says only the box has been damaged

I dont know why manufacturers dont take the size and shape of skirting boards into account when they produce these gates although thats possibly because they are not solely made for the uk market
