The handle is bakelite and held in place by the molded shape of the handle in the metal body, and secured with a single screw. The lip makes it easy to flip without burning fingers. It’s sturdy without being exaggeratedly heavy.

Assembly was easy peasy, it only needs a crosshead screwdriver and a minute or two to put together. Cleaning is super easy, just soap, sponge and water.
The non-stick surface is the textured kind, and the coating seems to be high quality. There was no sticking of food. Extremally happy with this versatile flat pan.
