Fanatical prospecting (fp) by jeb blount is a must-have book for sales professionals. Jeb delivers another must have resource, if you consider yourself a sales professional.
Sales eq is the ultimate book for understanding psychological selling in the current environment. Listening is the key to building rapport and gaining trust.
People buy emotionally and justify logically, and that's exactly what blount seeks to address. A reinforcement of some of my long-standing beliefs about the emotional aspect of the sales process.
Sales is a language of questions, says boorstin. Be prepared to deal with objections and negotiate. A rejection is nothing more than a necessary step in the pursuit of success.
Cons
This book talks exhaustively of the importance of understanding and gaining 'emotional intelligence' with little instruction of methods on gaining the intelligence. It also wanders off topic.
