Pros

Gortex soles grip well in loose, rocky terrain.

Comfortable, light weight, breathable, they conform to your feet. They feel very sturdy and seem like they will hold up well to what i will put them through. They fit like a pair of sneakers but with ankle support and aggressive traction.

Some reviews don't like the laces provided. Better bang for the buck compared to merrell. Great padding for the entire foot.

Cons

They destroy my feet. There is little to no cushioning. The insole is nowhere near as comfortable as the quest prime gtx backpacking boot. The seam stitches in the toe area are subject to abrasion because of location and flexing at this area.

This boot fails spectacularly in perhaps the most important aspect- the laces. I refuse to give salomon the pass on this so many other reviewers have. Had to return them.

The mesh areas that would be gore-tex and waterproof are not. They are not waterproof. Walking in light snow feet got soaked.

The lowlights are the shoe laces will not stay tied (get used to double knotting) and the tongues do not stay centered.

They lasted about 14 months before the boots started falling apart around where the boots bend the most by the toe.

Price

This is a great boot for the money.

To me, anything more expensive would be a big waste of money

[they went to $120 then came back down].

At the price of $90 this is a good value, but i would not pay much more for these as they as simply a very lightweight boot.

Shipping

These boots arrived quickly and felt great right out of the box.

Competitiveness

Better bang for the buck compared to merrell.

They don't fit as well as some other brands i own.
