Pros

All are fantastically comfortable and durable shoes. These are the first “tie’ salomon’s i have owned. Great show.

The x ultra pioneer hikers are simple the best. This hiker is great for getting your moneys worth. Great for disc golf, dirt and gravel trails, and even a great substitute for a golf shoe in dry conditions.

The salomon x ultra pioneer is a good quality shoe with a generous toe box. The tongue seems a little small (narrow and short), but the rest of the shoe is great. I buy high end insoles and these shoes are the third home for mine.

Comfortable and breathable. Very comfortable and lightweight. Size 11 fits a little bit shorter than xa pro too.

If you have a tendency to roll your ankles out, the stiffer sole is beneficial. Very good grip as well. Very light yet stable.

Cons

The old ultras had the beloved boa lacing system; these new ones just have regular laces that are a tad too short and come untied easily. Salamon has gone to cheap insoles compared to years past. Second pair or salomons with terrible qc.

Because they were inexpensive compared to retail stores, i wondered if they would be imperfect or fake.

They are only a hundred bucks, but i am a cheap skate.

I could not help but think "these are the ugliest shoes i've ever seen" when i opened the box (quiet shade / mallard blue).
