Pros & Cons
Pros
Real world unoptimized copying in windows is always a little slower than synthetic benchmarks. I have a 5th gen m2 that will transfer at the speed of light.
Speed seems inline with expectations, but capacity is not what i paid extra for. System is with z370 & cpu intel® core™ i7-8700k fcblga1151 3. Ghz 2-ch, with overdrive @ 4. I have an older computer that this was running on, and the performance was... Read More
It enumerates correctly as usb 3. A 5. Inch screen. It can also read and write tb.
This is kind of a big drive, which is fine as it needs to dissipate heat more than a compact unit. It is not obscenely large, though.
Got it originally to backup game install files on hp omen for a complete reinstall without redownloading hundreds of gigs of files. This thing loads about 50gb of music in about 3 mins!
Cons
A computer terabyte is 2^40 bytes (that is, it takes 40 address lines to access it all) but a marketing gigabyte is one trillion bytes, which is about 99. The drive has a datum of 920 gib when formatted as exfat.
Highlights
Quality
After suffering through some scam drives it was nice to just buy from an established brand and receive a good product.
Spend the extra money and buy a quality product
But for the time being i am going to stick with the format it comes with.
I was honestly shocked at the tranfer speeds.
Price
Pricey, but speed costs money and it's definitely worth it.
Transfers data really quick, great size and price can't be beat!
I tried to find a low cost thumb drive and they all had super slow write speed.
Shipping
It's almost as fast as my external ssd.
Wow, better than twice as fast as any regular usb drive.
It is running about as fast as advertised.
Packaging/appearance
Packaging looked very real, but at first i thought this ain’t the real deal with respect to capacity.
Competitiveness
Pro tip: if you get a larger one (500gb or 1tb) download hyperspin and now you have an awesome old gaming unit for you and da boys!
Been a fan of previous models so i decided to grab this one too.
71sandisk ultra (sdxc) 64gb read mb/s: 47.
I was used to transferring 20gb movies to my other drive and it would take 45 mins or so.
