Sandisk makes a very fast and durable product. It's a bit large, but compared to the slimmest portable drives, it’s still small & pocketable.
The speed of the sandisk pro-g40 is unmatched short of building your own ssd from parts. Thunderbolt all the way. Mb/s on thunderbolt and 1110mb/s on usb-c 3.

For compatibility, this drive is compatible with thunderbolt 3/usb 4 host. Had zero issues with compatibility, connection, or use. I own a mac mini that still meets my needs in all ways except for storage.

After reading the sandisk forums, turns out this is an ongoing issue. Upon checking, many users have similar issues. Do not make my mistake.
I hope anyone who buys it can read this review and save your time. Tech support asks me to mail it back to them for a warranty claim. Update 4 months still no word from “customer support”.

Best i’ve used outside of building your own with ssd memory and enclosure.
After repartitioning and formatting for ntfs and using a quality cable, this drive works great.
Third worst part of backing up is having to clean up to make room for more data.
Worst part of backing up is not having done it.
