Simple, with few bells and whistles, it allows the listener to vary playback speed, although there is some distortion. I just hook them up to my pc and they appear as regular usb drives. A lot of songs and long battery life.

They are better as many phones have mediocre dacs. Far superior to the newer clip jam. Can't run without it. Amazon basic wired headphones are a good match if you want to stay cheap.

Second sandisk stops working on me today, in exactly the same manner as the first it becomes completely unresponsive. Had to return it again. It has a tendency to stop turning on, stop charging. There seems to be no warranty.

Nothing but trouble from start to finish with problems too innumerable to list here. The only help you can get from sandisk is through email.

The organization of this mp3 player is dreadful. If your problem can't be fixed with their standard recommendations you are out of luck. That's pretty unforgivable in my opinion.
