Returned to amazon for a refund. The seller's return policy says that defective items with free shipping can be returned for $6 to cover shipping. But the one i got is junk.
The adapter simply heats up and fails while transferring files. The adapter isn't even worth the pittance they charge. Usb port doesn't matter, nothing makes this work.
Popping the device apart, it appears that a solder joint failed. It was stuck, no way to remove it. Doesn't work at all.
Watch out for counterfeits of this item. It's false advertisement to send buyers a completely different product than what they thought they were purchasing.
