I was having lots of problems with the halogen lights over the past 7 years of living in this unit chiefly due to the heat produced by the halogen bulb leading to melting of the female connectors inside the recessed socket

I think this is simply an issue with led technology that has come a long way but does not duplicate the halogenincandesant experience perfectly

The light is also less warm to the eye when compared with halogen

You should know though that the shape of the bulb is not quite the same and the light beam is narrower

I bought a par bulb from the same manufacturer and it is considerably longer so it sticks out of the light fixture and provides a much narrower beam
