Pros & Cons
Pros
The sheath is not the best design for the blade shape, but it works. It has a slot for the knife to be slung or belted on, even able to be attached to the webbing of a lot of tactical gear. It takes a little duct tape to trim the locking pins.
This karambit is not the best i've ever owned but its sturdy and easy to sharpen. The blade is also at a greater angle than most factory karambits offered on the market; custom karamambits generally are of a way higher price. It's a good knife for the... Read More
The design of the blade is made to fit with a hammer grip. The handle- it’s short but after seeing a video reviewer mentioning to hold the karambit hammer style not saber it makes sense.
It's hefty so you need to be very confident with it before doing a flail. The fact that it is double edged is great for protective and offensive moves. Razor sharp and extremely deadly.
Pics of it being held incorrectly with complaints are laughable. It's an easy fix, but i'll leave it to the users to figure out what works for them. Dont be scared by the other reviews.
Cons
Blade is dull, has two deep scratches wjen i got it. Dimensions are wrong. All shade of wrong. Scratch, scratch, scratch.
The scabbard is is trash, it feels like a child’s commando toy. The sheath is very dangerous. They just gots to have that kydex snap as you pull the blade and its too stiff with this much curve.
I have average sized hands for a man, and when gripping this knife, my flesh was in uncomfortable proximity to the blade. Outside edge is about 8 inches and inside edge is 6inches. The size of the grip is too small, front or reverse grip puts exceeds ... Read More
Highlights
Quality
The quality was very, very worth it's cost.
I don’t mind bending over with the right too.
You might get an extra 2-3 inches of reach with the schrade, but flailing with straighter karambits can yield an extra 5-7 inches of reach.
If you don't have a firm grasp with the filipino martial arts, kali, escrima, silat or just know how to handle a knife to this ... Read More
Price
Seems lots of folks don't understand what a karambit is.
Packaging/appearance
Be mindful of the plastic packaging, (rust inhibitors) and the way the blade seats in the sheath.
And it's pretty sharp right out of the box.
This is why some folks have cut themselves while trying to pry open the holster.
Competitiveness
First learn how to hold a karambit.
As for being a karambit, this is definitely a good example of that's not a knife, this is a knife compared to other knives of its style.
It's made of a kydex type plastic and due to the curve, the knife is nearly impossible to draw if it's on your belt.
You hold a karambit like you would hold a knife to stab someone.
