Pros
The locking collar is very secure and easy for older hands. The design insures tightness. The telescoping handle is a neat feature.
The folded shovel fits nicely in the provided sheaf.
Cons
The steel that makes up the handle isn't great and the hinge sheered right though it. The steel is no longer 1055 hc steel. The area i was suppose to press was sort of jammed.

Incredibly well made, digs nicely, even in my rocky soil here in the desert.
Had it for three years of heavy use, misuse, and a little abuse, and finally snapped off at the weld joints at the head.
Doesn't need much room to stow away

Pretty pleased with it and for the money its a great buy if you need a compact shovel.
Schrade’s pocket knives may be cheaper than a $5 whore, but make no mistake this shovel is worth every penny.
I got this trench shovel back in 2015 for pretty cheap in my opinion for $30.
Works fine for the price range it’s in.

I think this thing would also be almost as good as the russian spetsnaz e- tool in a tussle.

Until you figure out to hold the plastic pinstop piece all together and pull up to be able to extend the shovel
