I have used it for my truck battery for more than a year with spc-7a controller and it works very well.
I don't have it wired to a switch so have to remember to unplug it before i start the truck and plug it back in when i'm done.
I have it wired to the battery in a truck that was always ending up with a dead battery because it wasn't getting used often enough.

That connection is situated right beside the drivers side seat so it isnt a problem to get at
