I think it's a matter of a fussy part rather than a faulty one. It's in a separate small plastic wrapping inside the box. Oh and the chain comes oiled too!

The chain did not come with a master link or pin, so once i sized the chain correctly, i added a spare master link to connect the chain.
Competitiveness
I ordered the chain to replace an old, worn out chain on a shwinn sturmy-archer three speed tricycle.
It's just so much better to get the name brand.
If you're engaging in "serious" bmx, you may wish to go with a more expensive brand.

I didnt want to buy the chain but my son broke and lost the chain that came with the bike so i was forced to buy this chain
