It was also at the top of the range of what i was wanting to spend.
Mountain biking fit the bill but i didn’t want to spend $1500+ on another high end bike since i’m just getting started.

Packaging 5/5: the bike was very carefully wrapped and padded for shipping.
Everything fits tight in the box and all parts that needed to be assembled were individually wrapped and then zip tied together.

We purchased the large frame and it is nearly identical in size to the other large frame bike that we have.
