Like one of the other reviewers i started with a metra brand kit and it just did not fit

The metra one did not have the correct angle had noticeable gaps on each side of the stereo and the plastic did not match the colortexture of the trim piece

Im not sure why you would install it lower but maybe if you have navigation things are arranged differently or something

It seems there is a lot of confusion on this kit and the metra 957861 one about whether each will fit a particular pilot or not

There dont seem to be any clear guidelines but my recommendation is to browse the reviews for each and look for people saying they have the same yeartrimnavigation or not as you and whether it worked well for them
