Very happy with the magnet and design of this thing.

Scosche makes really good quality magnetic mounts.

I ended up getting a leather case with the magnetic plate built in and it solved the problem.

The magnet is strong, and when used with the provide plates, you'll have to intentionally pry whatever you want to mount off.
