I measured the lr rca lowlevel outputs of my head unit and the rca lowlevel outputs of the scosche unit with a tone generator at 1khz at a fixed amplitude as input to the head unit

If you have a cheaper amp with little signal input headroom this could induce some noise on the amplifier output signals
