The surface is for heavy duty cleaning however bits of food get caught up on the raised dots and need to be rinsed off

I was surprised when i opened the box to see that the dishwand that had been shipped was identical to what was pictured on amazon except that the wand that arrived contained 1 cm hole in the bottom of the scrubber head for dispensing dish soap directly onto a soiled dish

The handle lasted about three years before the fill button started to deteriorate and had to be replaced
