I did the same for the full-size sellotape a while back.
The older units had that small centre insert, which often got lost or thrown away with the spent tape centre.

Competitiveness
We already have a 10yr+ old silver scotch weighted refillable tape dispenser and i needed another one for a different part of the house.
Compatible with arteza tape which is much cheaper than and just as good as scotch's own.
Yes it’s sellotape so it’s bound to be good

I love the new super clear tape that is almost invisible when you wrap presents but the brand that i choose comes in a dispenser with no back and it is impossible to use one hand to dispense

I am really tired of those plastic thumb dispensers a pain to use static buildup means tape back sticks to everything and of course the poor planet with chunks of polycarbonate going to the trash every few months
