Pros

I hate buying products over and over, so a multi-pack is tremendously convenient for me. My only regret is that i did not buy a wider tape.

Scotch masking tape is a staple in this house. It pulls off with no residue.

Cons

Not all scotch masking tape is equal. It is impossible to quickly tear nice pieces of tape from the roll. These companies get so big that for all practical purposes there is no competition and no incentive to keep making a quality product.
