Pros & Cons
Pros
Scotts mulch is a decent product. It's faster to just pull out the old mulch and lay down new stuff. If you need a touchup, don't want to lay new mulch, this is fine. Scotts is a pro.
The stain works but can be a bit messy to apply and you have to watch for overspray. It is a stain for faded mulch, so you will need to shield areas you don't want dyed. After rainfall, they are now 'duller', but still have a bit more pop.
Cons
This product dispenses really slowly. The power wand is ridiculously inefficient. Mulch fades eventually and you are left with the choice of new mulch, put up with the faded mulch or dye the mulch.

The product itself is very good but the sprayer was not

I just kind of drilled out in a stream so it made it very hard to spray a large surface area
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Consequently we ended up having to use two jugs to cover our front yard and it ended up costing us more than mulch

But the sprayer did more of a spray than a straight dribble he stream it would’ve been much easier to cover the surface area rather than having some parts oversaturated and some parts under saturated

All you have to do is spray for an even coverage

So though my hoa requires that i mulch my yard i dont like to put anything wood directly up against my house because it attracts the insects

Instead i used eucalyptus mulch against the house and regular brown shredded bark in the beds about a foot away
