Ice melt pellets get under the blade in the hopper and under the spreader wheel causing the machine to jam and not work. All the powder from the ice melt collects and inhibits operation. It's the worst piece of junk money can buy.

You have to break the clumps by yourself

I think the motor is not strong enough to break the clump while it is running
