Pros & Cons
Pros
Scotts grass seed has outstanding germination rate. I'm not a gardener so i have no idea if my results are average. I have tiny blades of grass growing! Scotts turf builder is the key!
Fescue is close to it's heat limit in northern georgia. Bluegrass is for cooler climates. I have yet to see how it will handle the summer temps. We have 4 huge oak trees in our yard so our grass doesn't get a lot of sun.
Cons
This seed needs to go back to the drawing board. The grass is extremely thin and since most of the seed has not emerged it doesn't seem like it works well. Not sure if the 20lb. Bag of the plan rebel would be as much seed as we got in our 44 pounder f... Read More
The seeds aren't popping. Does not grow. Can not be used in late summer in middle ga. Only positive thing out of it is that no weeds are growing.
Highlights
Quality
Spread in the fall, watered a few times, and now in early-spring, we are very pleased with the results.
We are very happy with the yield from this seed.
With the heat being over 100 for more than 55 days, and still getting up here, you would think that it would have died.
The seed label with the expiration date was unreadable but i think i saw it was tested 8 months ago (which was the same as lowes seed).
Price
The price was better then local box stores but lowes put this seed on sale so it was close to the same price.
This is good seed at a good price.
