I wanted the black and white, but the color version is quality.

I have tried three (3) other versions of this copy and this is the best-of-the-best in my opinion and well worth the price i paid for it.
Packaging/appearance
You really get the feeling of being in england in the 1840s.
Was a good change from the usual scrooge i watch every christmas holday.

In 1935 there were few if any special effects so for one of the ghosts there is simply no visual effect the actor just reacts to a ghost only he can see

Hicks is not alastair sim and the two are juxtaposed in presenting their unique professional interpretations of the stodgy character dickens wanted to introduce to the extremely hardworking laborers of the day to give them hope for a brighter future and to convey that their labor was appreciated and necessary for a rapidly progressing nation
