Some customers suggest replacing the cord for higher quality to ensure longevity when using it for hiking.

Some have noted that the magnesium alloy rod may come out of the handle but can be easily fixed with superglue. Overall, customers feel that they receive good value for their money.

The steel is 4mm thick, so with the tanto point, this knife could easily be used for prying and opening cans.
I'm really hard on my blades more so than any other piece of equipment i load up in my gear bag.
Put one of these in every vehicle, in your tool box, in your kitchen junk drawer, and in your get home / bug out bags.
Price
A nice little knife for the price.
Honestly for the price i wasn’t expecting much but by far this is the best knife.
For the $9 you also get a decent ferrocerium rod for fire starting.
Over all, the price is great even if you have to do a little up grade to make it a nice survival knife.
Competitiveness
I have quite a few $200+ fixed blade knives, and they are much better than this knife.

I only wish the magnesium piece was a little bigger because it separated from the handle piece after first use

I bought one of these just out of curiosity

It is thick magnetic 440 stainless steel although not the best stainless steel

The nylon cord on the knife handle is not 550 paracord but that is easily replaced with paracord if you desire
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Putting paracord on the handle instead of the cord provided would make a wider handle that would probably fit my hand better

The sheath is nothing special but it is adequate
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Eventually the knife edge will probably wear thru the nylon sheath after enough in and outs
