However i had a false start when i transferred 700 gb from another ext hd and something caused my mbp screen to go red crashed my heart stopped when i rebooted and couldn’t see my drive anymore fearing if lost all my data

The cable itself is not usbc which is slightly disappointing as i imagine that most people using this will have a modern laptop
