Bought to replace old 3. Enclosure. Great price, capacity awesome. My son is pleased as he’d filled 500gb in no time. Not extremely expensive and not too loud.

Cons

This is old tech, and it feels old next to the new. Now being asked to cover warranty postage for a replacement refurbished drive.

This is now the 3rd seagate drive i have had problems with (smr + cmr) failed ona new build. Doesnt show in bios. Resorted to seagate tech support.

Seagate barracudas have poor performance for a large disk. The age of the hard drive is over, mostly due to corporate greed. Seagate has a history of failing to deliver the best performance.

You have to initalise and format the baracuda and then i removed two partitions into one files volume.

Is pretty fast and has definitely helped my storage problem.

I needed to increase the storage capacity of my small nas drive from the existing 1tb drives.

Had a mammoth task ahead of restoring my nas of around 6tb onto two of these.
