Pros
Used clonezilla to clone original drive. Took about 20 mins as there was only around 40 gb to transfer (basically transferring a clean install with my fav basic programs). Took longer than expected to arrive!
It is fair to say, i was a little sceptic with some mixed reviews i had read. This hybrid drive is slimmer than the toshiba drive which was installed. It also seems much 'crisper' in use. Drive is also very quiet.
Cons
Seagate 5200 with cache is not as fast as i would have hoped it to be. Seagate provides no utilities to see what the drive is caching and no way to keep files in the cache. Do not buy this ssd/hd. Go for a ssd instead.
They produce annoying noisy. Datum errors. Noticed that there were issues, repaired disk but days later total death.
Amazon customer support mislead me into thinking a refund was possible before abandoning the case. Feels more like amazon is deceitful and covering the seller.

Competitiveness
Very easy to install in a first gen ps4 and being a hybrid hd it’s much quicker, can’t fault it for the price.
I therefore tried this cheaper sshd hybrid technology which has been around for a while now.
This was bought to replace another 500gb disc of another brand that was throwing up random read / write errors after about a year's use.

I suppose the only consideration is not to have a power fail while writing data as there is a risk of it being cached and not written to the magnetic media but the system it is used in is rarely switched off and relies on windows power management

Ive used ssd as an upgrade on a relatively new machine before and the performance is impressive but i wanted to also improve a smaller older notebook however given that it had an older sata interface it wasnt justified to spend so much on ssd

I had to partition it before installing windows 10 professional this was installed from a usb stick

You dont hear this drive in operation also its faster to access the data due to it being partly ssd
