Pros

No issues as of yet. Oldest is ~5yrs old and still runs without issue. The others are ~3 & ~2yrs old. for me, none really. big, big and big.

Cons

Seagate sent me new drives, not refurbished. Sometimes it spins up and most of the time it wouldn't. Seagate insists that i hook it up to a windows box first and run the diagnostics there before they'll talk to me.

Seagate will not pre-ship a replacement drive. I am disappointed that the drive failed after 60 days and i have to pay $10 for seagate to send me a replacement" "very disgusted with seagate right now.

The read/write speeds are atrocious. The workload comes no where near the 180/y rating. It takes 11 hours to copy a 2 tb sql data base.

Quality

The bare drive installed easily and was recognized by bios and windows 10 without a problem.

Read times are very good, enough to access and stream or even reproduce directly in the computer.

However, the write speeds are indeed pretty abysmal when doing sustained file transfers.

These drives have limited writing abilities but i only planned to write the data on there once.

Price

Lots of storage space for the price.

I mainly needed this amount of storage for my music and movie collection and this was by far the cheapest way to get 8tb of storage.

But i like the storage capacity for the price.

However, i'll take the tradeoff for the great value in terms of cost per tb.
